Automotive Service Technology
 

Automotive Service Technology is a two year or 1080 hour course intended to teach skills and impart  knowledge which  will prepare students for career in the automotive field.  The program will include both classroom study and practical hands-on experiences.  Opportunities are provided to allow students to gain knowledge in finding, diagnosing and repairing or adjusting a malfunctioning vehicle.  Articulated/Advanced  college credits are available to those who qualify.
 

Building Construction Technology
 

Building Construction Technology is a two year  or 1080 hour course that offers a variety of experiences to help prepare students for entry into the building industry.  Actual construction projects are built by students in an effort to give them a broad perspective of construction businesses.  The program will include both classroom study and practical hands-on experiences.  Current projects include the construction of modular homes other projects are added when appropriate.  Edge College credits are available to those who qualify. 
 

Business Education
 

Business Education courses are designed to prepare students for a career in the business field.  Business Education is a two year or 1080 hour program.  Students will receive a strong background in computer applications, accounting, office technology, and desktop publishing.  Students will receive a strong background in computer applications, desktop applications, and accounting.  Options are available for digital imaging and web page design.  Students can pursue career goals through a series of combinations in course work, simulations and work based experiences.  Articulated/Advanced  College credits are available to those who qualify.
 

Networking Technology 

The Networking Technology Program is a four semester, 1080 hour program designed to teach students how to design, build, service, and maintain computers and computer networks.  This curriculum is web-based; designed and delivered over each student's desktop computer.  Students also get hands-on experience with state of the art networking equipment.  With online programming all over the world, students may complete the course objectives at different locations including universities and colleges as well as at the Career Center.  With the knowledge gained from this program, students will have the background to enter the computer networking field immediately after completing all four semesters or transfer to a university or college and complete a degree program.  Networking Technology courses are designed to cover a wide range of computer related certifications.  Articulated/Advanced College credits are available to those who qualify..
 

Criminal Justice Technology
 

Criminal Justice Technology is a two year or 1080 hour program.  This program deals with the study of society's formal control systems; the administration of justice; and the full spectrum of criminal law.  The course will provide a student the basic knowledge and skills used throughout the criminal justice system.  Areas of study for the Criminal Justice Technology courses include: legal research, fingerprinting, plaster casting, criminal investigation, crime scene evaluation, and an opportunity for field placement.  Articulated/Advanced College credits are available to those who qualify.    
 

Environmental Technology
 

Environmental Technology is a two year or 1080 hour course.  It provides students with opportunities to study the theory, mechanics and interrelations of various aspects of the environment--the factors that surround and influence all organisms.  Areas of study within the Environmental Technology program include scientific studies that deal with the atmosphere, the earth, humans, plants, animals, plus chemical and physical properties of air, soil, water and wastewater.  Emphasis is placed on natural resources concerning current use and potential future use of renewable and non-renewable resources in our ecological system.  Articulated/Advanced College credits are available to those who qualify.  
 
 

ProStart/Foods Management
 

ProStart Foods Management is a School-to-Work program that introduces students to careers in the food service industry and teaches the basic skills and knowledge needed for success.  It is a two year or 1080 hour course.  This program introduces students to careers in the hospitality field.  It helps students to build good business and management skills that are vital to all industries.  ProStart Foods Management topics include:  preparing and serving safe food, kitchen basics, commercial food service equipment, food preparation, nutrition, marketing, standard accounting practices, purchasing and inventory, etc.  Articulated/Advanced College credits are available to those who qualify.. 
 

Therapeutic Services (Health Assistant, CNA)
 

Therapeutic Services is a one year or 540 hour course.  The student may also desire to take a Medical Reimbursement Program as a second year option to make up a 1080 hour course.  The Therapeutic Services course provides the student learners with job entry skills and provides major occupational concepts used thought the health care system.  Students planning to pursue more advanced studies related to the health field will obtain a basic background in the sciences and technologies of health care.  This service offers clinical preparation and clinical rotations directly related to the specific interest area of the student.  Students will be able to meet guidelines/requirements for WV State Certification Test for Nursing Assistants. (CNA). Students that complete the optional second year will meet guidelines to take the Insurance/Medical Coding Certification Test. Edge College credits are available to those who qualify . 
 

Diagnostic Services (Medical Aid) 
 

Diagnostic Services is a one year or 540 hour course.  The student may also desire to take a Medical Reimbursement Program as a second year option to make up a 1080 hour course.  The Diagnostic Services course provides the student with job entry skills and instruction in major occupational concepts used throughout the health care system.  Students planning to pursue more advanced studies in related health fields will obtain a basic background in the sciences and technologies of health care.  This service also offers clinical preparation and clinical rotations directly related to the specific interest area of the student.  Students will be able to meet guideline/requirements for eligibility to take the National Certification for Medical Assistants.  Students that complete the optional second year will meet guidelines to take the Insurance/Medical Coding certification Test.  Edge College credits are available to those who qualify.
 

Welding/Metals Technology
 

Welding/Metals Technology is a two-year or a 1080 hour course.  It is designed to provide students skills in the combined metals trades.  Students will gain knowledge and attain practical sills in both machine trades and welding trades.  Course unites include:  safe work habits, measuring techniques, metal cutting machines, operation of lathes and drill presses, operation of welding stations (welding and cutting), advanced machining and welding processes.  Through classroom and hands-on activities, this course allows students to develop the necessary skills needed to enter the industries that deal with the usage of machining skills and welding processes.  Articulate/Advanced college credits are available to those who qualify.. 
 

Adult Basic Education
 

Adult Basic Education is provided during the regular school day and at night during various times during the year.  This class is provided to those wishing to improve their skills and/or prepare for the G.E.D. test. 
 
 

Alternative Learning Center
 

The Alternative Learning Center is a program for students who have difficulty learning in the public school system.  Students are primarily middle school or high school grade level.  The goal of the program is to get the students up to grade level so they can return back to the regular classes with new coping skills.  Placement into the Alternative Learning Center is for high school students and only by referral from the high school.
